斯坦利出生於1963年 ，于克球員時代出道於荷甲豪門阿賈克斯 ，夫和范加師從於荷蘭名帥克魯伊夫和範加爾，国安官方以主力身份代表阿賈克斯多次獲得荷甲聯賽、斯坦师荷蘭杯賽及歐洲賽事冠軍 ，利出鲁伊隨後在比甲聯賽、任线法甲聯賽擔任主力 。队主
斯坦利執教經驗豐富 ，教练1999年退役後 ，于克曾先後執教荷乙 、荷甲 、比甲和南非超級聯賽球隊 。並作為荷蘭國家隊教練組成員，與荷蘭國家隊一起征戰過歐洲杯和世界杯。
2019年斯坦利加盟北京國安足球俱樂部 ，任預備隊主教練 。2020賽季斯坦利率北京國安預備隊在足協杯1/8決賽中，以1比0的比分戰勝中甲球隊成都蓉城 ，闖進八強 。
