格蘭德和弗裏克曾在拜仁共事過 ，弗里他在節目中透露後者此前給他打電話 ，克邀並說道 ：“赫爾曼 ，世界我想要你和我們一起去卡塔爾 。杯期所以到時候我也會站在場邊 。我接受了”
在去年夏天弗裏克離開拜仁出任德國隊主帥之際 ，前拜格蘭德也離開拜仁並加入德國足協任職：今年68歲的仁助任助他既是U21國青隊的助教 ，同時也是教格间出教弗裏克在國家隊的球探 。格蘭德也是兰德拜仁2013年奪得三冠王時海因克斯的助教。
