本場比賽，抢镜維爾納坐在看台觀戰，喜剧在切爾西取得大比分領先時，人切轉播鏡頭給到了看台上的尔西維爾納。從鏡頭中可以看到，主场維爾納正在和助教討要糖吃。大胜首先，台讨糖吃助教給了他一顆糖，抢镜但看起來維爾納對此有些嫌棄，喜剧隨後這顆糖被另一位助教拿走。沒有吃到糖的維爾納顯然有些不高興，伸手拍了拍坐在前麵的助教，然後攤開了手，想要再要一顆糖。

在歐冠小組賽第三輪的比賽中，切爾西4-0大勝馬爾默，但維爾納在上半場因傷被替換下場。據英國媒體的報道，維爾納大約要傷缺數周。
