對於沙特隊與中國隊的协主席赢第4輪比賽，前沙特足協主席艾哈邁德·埃德·哈爾比在接受采訪時表示 ，中国希望沙特隊能贏下比賽 ，队不的考盡快出線 ，容易“沙特隊現在正與澳大利亞隊同積9分領跑 ，将强晉級2022年世界杯的機會很大 。如果能夠在對陣中國隊比賽中 ，成功拿到想要的3分 ，沙特隊有望在預選賽中繼續一騎絕塵 ，並且很快登上卡塔爾世界杯舞台 。”哈爾比亦坦言 ，想贏中國隊並非易事，“這將是一個強有力的考驗，因為中國隊將會努力爭取一個積極的成績 ，並且想要調整在小組當中的位置 。”
