《馬卡報》指出 ，多西皇馬希望能在今夏同時引進哈蘭德和姆巴佩 。下季在這種情況下 ，今夏计划皇馬需要大量清洗冗員 。回皇除了換回轉會費之外 ，马贝媒皇馬還希望通過清洗來騰出每年3000萬歐元的薪資空間 ，以便於開出高薪吸引新援 。在皇馬的清洗名單上 ，貝爾首當其中 。貝爾年薪高達1700萬歐元 ，而他近年來在伯納烏的貢獻實在是少得可憐。
不過皇馬想要順利清洗貝爾 ，卻絕非易事 。貝爾早就明確表態過 ，他不會放棄合同期內哪怕一歐元的薪水 。在疫情狀況下 ，沒有任何球隊會為貝爾開出1700萬歐元的年薪 。而且貝爾的年齡和玻璃體質 ，也使得他缺少足夠有誠意的追求者。
皇馬若想要成功清洗貝爾 ，很可能還得延續本賽季的模式。皇馬為了將貝爾租給熱刺 ，承擔了他一部分薪水 。皇馬如果想要在今夏送走貝爾的話 ，那不但不太可能用他換回轉會費 ，而且還得承擔部分薪水並與其解約。否則的話 ，貝爾寧可坐看台 ，也會在皇馬躺賺這最後一年的高薪 。
