北京時間8月29日晚 ，國際足聯官方發表公告 ，体育體育仲裁法庭駁回了西甲聯賽拒絕放球員奔赴國家隊參加比賽的仲裁請求 ，國際足聯對體育仲裁法庭的法庭仲裁結果表示滿意 。
國際足聯計劃在9月上旬迎來多個國家隊比賽日 ，驳回不放但現在整個國際足壇的西甲賽事都要考慮防疫的因素 。此前國際足聯計劃將南美大區的球员求比賽日延長兩天 ，目的回国是為了保證球員的健康 。但西甲聯賽雲集了大量的家队南美球員 ，大批球員無法趕上本賽季西甲聯賽第4輪比賽 ，官方這對各支俱樂部和整個聯賽都是体育不小的衝擊。
因此西甲聯賽才向體育仲裁法庭遞交申請，仲裁但是法庭現在遭到了拒絕 。而國際足聯主席因凡蒂諾呼籲所有會員協會 、驳回不放聯賽和俱樂部保持一致 ，西甲為足球運動在全世界的推廣做出正確和公平的事情 。而國際足聯也表示 ，體育仲裁法庭已經承認FIFA的這個南美大區比賽日延長兩天是合理的 。
