This photographer just found a way to travel back in time and hang out with his younger self.

Conor Nickerson developed a photo series called "Childhood" where he placed his current self in childhood photos from 1997-2005, with the help of Photoshop.

It was all inspired by a project he created last year called "Then & Now," where he recreated old photos and gave viewers the chance to look back and forth between them. That helped him to develop this year's collection of photos after looking through his own family photos during spring break.

"When I was looking through my old photos I must have thought of that, because I decided I wanted to see if I could pull off the same thing with my own childhood photos and I went for it!" he told Mashable.

Nickerson always took photos with his phone and film camera, but he didn't start calling himself a photographer until a year ago.

"I've never done any project like this before so there was a lot more work involved," he told Mashable. "I've been mostly shooting events, musicians, and portraits in the past year, so this was a lot more hands on work."

It took Nickerson a total of six months to complete the project. He had to match the resolution of the digital photo to the old film photograph with a lot of retouching and editing. He also had to gather clothing to match his childhood memories.

"This most of all was a learning experience for me," he expressed. "I learned how to do this from just going in and doing it, and from diving into other projects without knowing much about photo manipulation."

The photographer received a pouring of positive responses for his work and we look forward to seeing his future projects.
