1994年 ，足夺他正式擔任中國隊主帥 ，亚洲亚运隨後率領中國男足連續擊敗西亞勁旅伊朗和沙特 ，杯官並在廣島亞運會中奪得銀牌 。戚务這也是生庆生截至目前中國男足亞運會曆史最佳戰績 。
