桑托斯表示 ，牙主從抽簽結果可以看到，帅踢视韩葡萄牙所在的乌拉小組是一個來自五湖四海的小組 ：“在此前 ，我們與他們正麵交鋒的圭结国和機會並不多 ，所知信息有限，局难加纳比如韓國 、葡萄加納 。牙主但他們有著實力不俗的帅踢视韩球員，並且教練也很出色 ，像保羅-本托 。我們得全神貫注 ，努力去了解對手。”
當被問到葡萄牙對陣烏拉圭誰更有可能獲勝時 ，桑托斯說道 ：“如果從過往的表現來看 ，烏拉圭更出眾 ，但如果按照現在的世界排名，我們可能會贏球 。”值得一提的是，上一屆世界杯16強賽，葡萄牙正是被烏拉圭淘汰出局 。
另外，韓國隊主帥保羅-本托也是一名葡萄牙人 ，並且曾與桑托斯有過短暫的師徒關係 。
