Chris Cornell was one of the most charismatic, powerful singers of his generation, the one that architected the '90s grunge movement from Seattle.
Just a few hours before his "sudden and unexpected" death, Cornell performed his final gig in Detroit with Soundgarden.

Soundgarden disbanded in 1997 due to tensions in the band. Cornell later pursued a solo career, joined the Audioslave supergroup but in 2012, he and Soundgarden reunited and released the band's sixth studio album.
People were thrilled to see Soundgarden back in Detroit and the gig at Fox Theatre was sold out:

In another clip, Cornell is hyping up fans and speaking of his love of performing in Detroit.
“I have bragged about Detroit crowds for 30 years, so stand the fuck up and make some noise," he says.
