在非洲杯突尼斯0-1不敵馬裏的卡塔比賽中 ，當值主裁Janny Sikazwe在比賽第85分鍾和第89分鍾兩度提前吹響終場哨 ，尔世引發了巨大的界杯爭議 。賽後有報道稱 ，裁判裁列這是名单因為Janny Sikazwe在比賽中有中暑的情況下 ，致使他無法集中注意力 ，在比賽結束後他也被送往醫院檢查 。
除此之外 ，此次卡塔爾世界杯裁判名單中還有6名女性裁判 ，這是男足世界杯92年曆史上首次有女性裁判參與執法 。其中 ，三名主裁分別是斯蒂芬妮-弗拉帕爾（法國） 、薩利瑪-穆坎桑加（盧旺達）、山下良美（日本），三名助理裁判分別是卡倫-迪亞斯-梅迪納（墨西哥）、凱瑟琳-內斯比特（美國） 、紐薩-貝克（巴西） 。
