在索爾斯克亞下課後 ，曝朗曼聯新帥的尼克人選鎖定了德國名帥朗尼克 。此前 ，已获著名記者羅馬諾透露 ，放行曼聯將在當地時間周五再次聯係莫斯科火車頭，执教战商談邀請朗尼克執教一事 。曼联而今 ，下周《Sport1》表示 ，森纳首秀莫斯科火車頭已經同意放行朗尼克 ，曝朗德國教頭確認將成為曼聯的尼克新任主帥 。
據此前媒體的已获報道 ，朗尼克將會出任曼聯的放行臨時主帥 ，帶隊至本賽季結束 ，执教战並在賽季結束後擔任俱樂部的曼联顧問 。不過由於勞工證的下周問題 ，朗尼克無法在當地時間周日對陣切爾西時帶隊出征 ，卡裏克仍將在場邊指揮 。不過在下周中主場迎戰阿森納時 ，朗尼克就可以迎來自己的曼聯執教首秀 。
而據《ESPN》的報道 ，能夠火速敲定朗尼克 ，其實並不在曼聯原本的計劃中 。《ESPN》表示 ，曼聯原本計劃讓卡裏克帶隊出戰6場賽事 ，直至今年的12月18日主場迎戰布萊頓的比賽 。但在曼聯與朗尼克之間談判進展順利的情況下 ，卡裏克的執教任期也被縮短。
