姆巴佩在今夏一度接近離隊 ，马签姆巴皇馬在轉會窗截止前一度為其報價2億歐元 ，记者将尝但巴黎方麵還是拉波斷然拒絕 。姆巴佩與巴黎的尔塔合同在明夏到期 ，雙方間的告知續約問題仍然還沒有解決 ，到了一月份就可以自由地與其它俱樂部談判 ，朋友佩而皇馬則是试截打著明夏免簽法國人的主意 。
塞爾電台記者Mario Torrejon表示：“這是胡皇一則和梅西回歸巴薩一樣有趣的消息 。拉波爾塔對他的朋友們說 ，他將會從皇馬手中搶到姆巴佩 。奇怪的事情已經見多了 ，但這看上去依舊不可能實現 。”
現年22歲的姆巴佩本賽季表現出色 ，在16場各項賽事中打入7球助攻11次 ，其中法甲12場6球6助攻 ，歐冠4場1球5助攻。目前，在德國《轉會市場》的估價中，姆巴佩的身價為1.6億歐元 。
