“C羅是史最足球史上最佳球員 ？別鬧了 。在我看來，佳别进他甚至連曆史前五都進不去 。前都去”卡薩諾表態，卡萨“梅西 、诺C闹连貝利 、罗历馬拉多納 、克魯伊夫和羅納爾多是我心目中的曆史前五 ，他們是另一個境界的球員 。”
對於C羅這種缺乏有球能力的純射手 ，卡薩諾一直不太看好。在去年12月 ，卡薩諾曾對比過C羅 、萊萬和本澤馬 。“讓我在他們之間做選擇的話 ，我會選擇萊萬和本澤馬 。因為他們是團隊型中鋒，能夠為球隊做貢獻 。C羅可能能打進三 、四十球，能上演很多個帽子戲法。但就對球隊的貢獻度而言 ，薩裏已經讓C羅的問題被暴露了出來 。C羅隻能更接近於球門 ，他在進球上很出色 ，但他踢不了邊路了。”卡薩諾當時說道 ，“C羅的存在就是為了進球 ，他不是梅西那種團隊球員 ，梅西能讓整個球隊都變得更強大 。”
在2019年9月，卡薩諾還曾單聊過梅西和C羅 ：“梅西是史上最佳球員 ，他現在沒有任何對手 。C羅的確不可思議 ，但梅西在另一個層麵上 。”
