SXSW 2017 is upon us and Mashablekicked things off by making history ... with tortillas.
During Day One of "The Mashable Show" — an exclusive 90-minute livestream of all things Interactive, Film and Music down at South By being broadcast on Twitter -- Ben Leventhal, Co-founder of Resy shattered the Guinness World Record for tallest stack of tortillas as the world watched, collectively drooling.
SEE ALSO:'The Mashable Show' isn't slowing down for its second day on Twitter Live at SXSWOn Friday afternoon, Casey DeSantis, a Guinness World Record adjudicator, joined Kerri Doherty, host of "The Mashable Show," to oversee Leventhal's devoted tortilla stacking at The Mashable House down in Austin, Texas.

The expert in food and dining started off strong with a beautiful balancing technique, and within minutes DeSantis called it: He had shattered the previous record for tallest stack of tortillas. The supportive crowd went wild, chanting, "stack, stack, stack" as Leventhal made history.

The 2010 record for tallest tortilla stack, set by Richard Godfrey, Marcin Bueski, Mark Monument, and Jason Wilkinson in Brighton, England, was surpassed by Leventhal's effort.
After making history live on Twitter, Leventhal thanked all those who supported him over the years and proudly announced, "dreams do come true."

In addition to the tortilla excitement, the first day of "The Mashable Show" included co-host Cookie Monster and some fabulous guest stars like Nick Offerman and Brett Haley, a wrestling Johnny Mundo taking on a T-rex, Kuri the robot and more.
