《足球報》消息，育总由管在女足國家隊的直管中国足协职责障管理層麵 ，由總局直接委派人員擔任領隊 ，女足全權負責女足國家隊的理变管理 ，並對總局直接負責 。为保如無意外 ，曝体體育總局將派出中國橄欖球協會主席陳應表擔任中國女足領隊，育总由管中國足協原負責女足國家隊的直管中国足协职责障人員擔任其助手 。
此前，陳應表是東京奧運會中國體育代表團橄欖球項目領隊 。在東京奧運會上 ，首次闖進奧運會的中國女子橄欖球隊便獲得第七名。陳應表一旦出任中國女足領隊，屬於高配 ，充分顯示出總局對女足國家隊的高度重視 。
