北京時間9月18日晚 ，2021-22賽季英超聯賽第五輪 ，克尔克曼城主場0-0戰平南安普頓 。质疑本場比賽下半場 ，裁判沃克在禁區內的对沃一次防守導致南安普頓球員倒地 ，隨即裁判吹罰了紅點套餐，判罚但經過VAR審查後 ，取球奇裁判撤銷了本次判罰 。消点對此，莱茵南安普頓球員很是克尔克不滿 ，英格蘭名宿萊茵克爾也發文表示了質疑。质疑
萊茵克爾寫道 ：“VAR做出的裁判絕妙反轉 。沃克被判罰紅點套餐 ，对沃紅牌是判罚個錯誤 ，但取消點球的取球奇決定非常奇怪 。你可以爭論那是否是個點球 ，但主裁判已經判罰了點球 ，而這（判罰點球）顯然不算是明顯的誤判 。”
對於裁判的判罰 ，南安普頓隊長普勞斯在賽後接受采訪時也表示了疑惑，他說道：“我覺得很奇怪 ，從‘紅牌+點球’到最後什麽判罰也沒產生 ，這肯定會有介於兩者之間的一些東西。”
