曼聯傳奇教練弗格森則有不同的看法 ，一些記者無意間聽到了弗格森在與著名的UFC選手哈比布的聊天 。在聊天中 ，弗格森談起了C羅替補出戰一事 ：“未能獲勝的原因 ？C羅沒有出場 ！”而當哈比布表示C羅在下半場替補出戰時 ，弗格森說道 ：“我知道 ，但你應該一直要讓你最好的球員們首發 。”
