穆伊此前入選了澳大利亞國家隊世預賽亞洲區12強賽的名單，參加了9月和10月的四輪比賽 ，也因此錯過了海港隊目前的足協杯賽事。據悉目前穆伊已經入境中國 ，在上海的酒店隔離 。穆伊本人前兩天也在社交媒體上曬出了自己在上海酒店隔離的照片 ，本賽季截至目前 ，穆伊共代表上海海港隊出場5次 ，打入1球 ，助攻1次 。
澳大利亞隊還是把首要目標放在11月第一場12強賽——主場對陣沙特 ，因為這是球隊回歸主場辦賽的“揭幕戰” ，預計會有25000名觀眾為澳大利亞隊加油。
