曼晚透露 ，曼联當時曼聯高層對孔蒂不感興趣 ，达对而C羅本人也將對孔蒂的索帅保留意見反饋給了曼聯董事會 。據一些曼聯球員的不满消息來源稱 ，在10月24日曼聯0-5輸給利物浦之後，英媒C羅在更衣室裏團結球員 ，拒绝但葡萄牙人並沒有掩飾他對主教練索爾斯克亞的孔蒂开表不滿 。
一位高層消息人士告訴曼晚 ，执教滕哈格加盟曼聯的曼联交易已經“基本完成” 。曼聯早在一月份就有信心在這個夏天獲得滕哈格 ，达对而這位52歲的索帅主教練的解約條款隻有可憐的170萬英鎊。曼聯一月份還透露 ，他們計劃在賽季結束前找到下一任主教練 。
