薩拉赫和馬內都是利物浦不可或缺的鋒線主力 ，本賽季薩拉赫在英超打進13球暫居射手榜首位 ，而馬內也打進7球 ，兩人的進球數幾乎占全隊進球（43球）的一半 。克洛普表示：“現在還沒有決定（兩人何時回國家隊） 。我是一個樂觀的人 ，因此我希望他倆可以推遲報到，但決定權並不完全掌握在我們手中 。”
《郵報》指出 ，利物浦俱樂部接下來還需要和埃及 、塞內加爾兩國足協進行談判 。值得一提的是 ，克洛普此前曾稱呼非洲杯是“小比賽” ，還因此引發了和記者的爭論 。而明年年初的非洲杯肯定會對利物浦的爭冠造成負麵影響 。
