Bethesda Softworks' long-promised plan to let amateur programmers create their own Fallout 4 content and play it on consoles -- a first for the series -- is finally getting rolling.
Starting Tuesday, Fallout 4 players on PC can grab the game's "Creation Kit" tools -- the same ones Bethesda used to build the game -- from the Bethesda.net launcher. To start creating content, you'll also need to grab the v1.5 update (currently in beta) for Fallout 4 by following the instructions here.

Once the feature is live, you can grab any user mods you want by loading up Fallout 4 and selecting "mods" from the main menu. That opens up the library, where you can browse, search, rate/comment and install individual mods.
This is an important moment for Bethesda, which has always had a large following of modders in the PC gaming community. This is the first time console players get to enjoy the some of the same custom enhancements that make the PC version of any Bethesda release more appealing.
