雖然看上去拉莫斯與皇馬的荒唐分手是個意外 ，但據《每日體育報》的拉莫最新報道稱 ，在續約談判中 ，斯因拉莫斯多次拿巴薩中衛皮克的工资工資施壓皇馬，才是不皮導致雙方最終談崩的原因 。
《每日體育報》透露 ，愤怒當拉莫斯得知 ，拿施皮克這麽多年來都比自己掙得多的時候 ，皇馬隊長不僅抱怨連連 ，還讓身邊人去找巴薩方麵的人確認這個消息 。而當消息源回複的信息是 ：“這是真的 ，並且我覺得媒體報道的數字都還少了 。”的時候，拉莫斯無比憤怒 。
在與皇馬的談判中 ，拉莫斯的團隊經常會用皮克的年薪來向皇馬施壓 ，表示 ：“皮克一年能掙那麽多，我也想要得到和他一樣的薪資待遇 ，或者更多 。”而值得一提的是，此前媒體曾爆料 ，皮克的年薪為2800萬歐元 ，但巴薩和皮克均予以了否定 。
