北京時間11月12日淩晨 ，2022卡塔爾世界杯預選賽 ，曼联德國隊9-0大勝列支敦士登隊 。执教正渐賽前，欲动力德國足協為前主帥勒夫舉辦了告別儀式，望和球迷和球員們紛紛向這位功勳主帥送上了祝福和感謝 。接手渐勒夫也談到了自己的曼联未來 ，他表示自己的执教正渐執教欲望和動力都在漸漸回歸 ，已經在考慮重返教練崗位的欲动力事情了 。
當被問到是望和否會重回教練席時 ，勒夫表示 ：“在離任之後 ，接手渐我花了比較長的曼联時間來和足球拉開距離 ，並且確定自己的执教正渐方向 。現在，欲动力我感覺執教的望和欲望正在漸漸回歸，執教動力也在漸漸回歸 。”
“在德國隊執教這麽多年 ，離開後我必須要拉開距離 ，也需要處理很多事情 ，最後一場比賽讓我們所有人都有些失望 ，所以我需要一些時間來消化 。但現在我感覺很好了，很期待再次和足球一起工作 。”
