按照《法國足球》主編費雷此前的說法 ，《法國足球》會在11月20日左右通知2021年度金球先生 。预定在此之前 ，金球奖法這一頂級個人榮譽的国足歸屬將會一直被保密。但最近一段時間 ，球主大量媒體和媒體人都宣布梅西將會贏得2021年金球獎 。编都對於這種泄密式報道 ，胡说費雷如今在接受《體育圖片報》采訪時予以了駁斥。炒作
“在最近10天 ，梅西我們聽到了很多各種各樣的预定說法 。”費雷表態 ，金球奖法“那全都是国足胡說八道 ，都是球主在虛張聲勢而已。”
對於金球獎 ，编都梅西日前曾表示並不認為自己是胡说頭號熱門 ，他的態度是“得之我幸失之我命” 。萊萬是梅西在金球獎上唯一的競爭者 ，他在出席波蘭隊賽前新聞發布會時，同樣表示對金球獎並不太在乎。
“我並不會過於糾結於能否獲得金球獎。”萊萬說道 ，“無論是各種猜測或者媒體爆料 ，都無法增加我獲勝的概率 。”
“也許在頒獎典禮臨近時 ，我會去想這事 ，但如今才11月初 ，還早著呢 。”萊萬繼續說道，“金球獎當然是一項偉大的榮譽 ，但沒必要一直想著它 。無論是在頒獎前還是在頒獎後 ，我都照樣有很多工作要做 。”本次金球獎頒獎典禮 ，將會在11月底舉行 。
