LONDON -- Dropping an iPhone is an excruciating experience.
But there are two conditions that can arguably make it worse: dropping said phone mere minutes after purchasing it, and then having the exact moment captured on live television.
Sound like the stuff of nightmares? For one teen in Australia, it was all too real.
SEE ALSO:God save the queue: Small showing for the London launch of iPhone 7The world collectively flinched when Jack Cooksey in Perth became the first person to obtain the then new iPhone 6 at his local store, and then subsequently dropped his gadget during a live interview with a local television station.

Fortunately for Cooksey, his brand-new phone survived the fall and his story spread far and wide as a cautionary tale.

The lucky lad is currently in the UK completing an internship, and Mashablefound him at the London launch of the new iPhone 7 as part of a promotion for smartphone protection manufacturer Tech21.
Unfortunately for Cooksey, his lifestyle as an intern means that he can't yet afford the steep price of Apple's latest generation of phones.
