北京時間11月15日，再业諾維奇官方消息，官方前維拉主帥迪恩-史密斯成為球隊主教練 ，迪恩雙方簽約兩個半賽季 。闪电值得一提的再业是 ，迪恩-史密斯在2021年11月7日被英超球隊阿斯頓維拉解雇 ，官方一周之後 ，迪恩他就重返英超，闪电成為了諾維奇的再业主帥 。
迪恩-史密斯從2018年10月開始執教阿斯頓維拉 ，官方曾在2018-19賽季帶領球隊從英冠升入了英超，迪恩並率隊進入了2019-2020賽季的闪电聯賽杯決賽 ，但最終輸給了曼城。再业本賽季開賽至今 ，官方他的帶隊成績十分糟糕 ，於是他也在11月7日被球隊解雇 。隨後 ，維拉官宣利物浦名宿傑拉德成為球隊新帥 。

在接受諾維奇俱樂部官方采訪時 ，迪恩-史密斯表示 ，“這7天過的很快 ，但我很高興能回來為諾維奇在英超工作。”另外 ，迪恩-史密斯還在采訪中透露 ，目前他的目標就是率領球隊保級 。
