去年1月 ，外援在前任主教練崔康熙的奇加力薦之下 ，約尼奇從大阪櫻花來到申花 ，大阪取代了姆比亞 。樱花约尼整個賽季 ，宣布約尼奇正麵防守能力比較突出 ，申花在各項賽事中代表申花出戰23次打入1球 ，外援場均貢獻1.1次搶斷 、奇加1.2次攔截 、大阪3.9次解圍 、樱花约尼0.6次阻擋射門 。宣布申花與約尼奇的合同到2023年年底 ，所以他是轉會回到大阪櫻花 。
由於大阪櫻花21歲年輕中衛瀨古步夢留洋加盟了草蜢隊 ，所以俱樂部將引援的目標瞄準了舊將約尼奇 ，從而補強自己的後防線 。大阪櫻花宣布 ，約尼奇將在回到日本通過體檢後與球隊簽約 ，他的球衣號碼是22號 。約尼奇曾於2017年首度加盟大阪櫻花 ，在隨後的4個賽季裏 ，約尼奇累計為球隊出場161次 ，貢獻13粒進球 。
談及重返大阪櫻花 ，約尼奇說 ：“能再次一起戰鬥我感到很高興 ，我現在正在克羅地亞為J聯賽做準備 。我期待著能和隊友 、支持者們見麵 ，我會全力以赴為大阪櫻花效力 。”
