Will we even recognize Mr. Potato Head in Toy Story 4?
Mr. Potato Head has gone through a few makeovers since he first sprouted onto the market in 1952, but this one may be his wackiest yet.
As reported by the Daily Record, Hasbro is releasing the toy in collaboration with Asda, a U.K. based supermarket chain owned by Walmart.
More specifically, the new Mr. Head is part of Asda's wonky veg project, in which the supermarket sells discounted boxes of misshapen fruits and vegetables to benefit the charity FareShare.
The goal was to make an irregular potato toy and show that the toy by any other shape would still be fun to play with. Just like a vegetable by any other shape would still taste as healthy.
There is currently only one doll for sale – it is on eBay, and bidding is presently at £225.00 (about $300 U.S.).
"At FareShare, we are always happy to give surplus wonky veg a home – it’s the taste, not the shape that counts," said Daniel Nicholls, Corporate Development Officer at FareShare, on their website.
Credit: HASBROUK2016/EBAY"We are very grateful that the proceeds from this unique Wonky Mr Potato Head auction will enable us to help those charities feed more people, and we’d encourage people to bid big," Nicholls said. "Every £1 we raise will mean we can provide enough food to make four meals for vulnerable and hungry men, women and children here in the UK."
