據《太陽報》的联已C罗两消息源表示：“在C羅的心中，他隻想回到曼聯 。密谈曼城C羅仍然想得到一份好的不愿不去合同，因為他仍然是声张世界上最出色的球員之一。但是坚信他在心中隻想回歸曼聯，他告訴俱樂部說‘想回來’ ，而今他回來了 。”
