瓜帥談到了梅西對他的对意意義 ：“他意味著一切 ，一切 ，切像乔丹一切……他讓我變得更有競爭力 。成禅我隻談論我和他在巴薩共事的時期 ，不談我離開後的巴薩 ，不談阿根廷國家隊，也不談現在的巴黎 。當年那支巴薩有如此多出色的球員，就像天空中群星閃耀 ，又恰恰在最好的年紀相遇到一起，那麽成功就是必然的。如果當時沒有梅西，我們也能贏球 ，但能贏那麽多 ？不可能 。”
“偶爾情緒低落的時候我會想 ，我把梅西比作邁克爾-喬丹 ，把自己比作擁有喬丹的菲爾-傑克遜 ，擁有喬丹的禪師拿到了6枚NBA總冠軍戒指 。我和梅西一起經曆了很多艱難的比賽 ，經常看他在場上自如地表現。我總是說 ，沒有梅西我們做不到這麽好 。我要送給梅西一瓶好酒 ，因為有他我才能拿到這麽多優厚的合同 ，這瓶好酒裏是我對他的感謝 。”
