Footballist認為：在這個小組當中，组乌一檔球隊葡萄牙攻擊力極強 ，拉圭但烏拉圭和加納是纳韩韓國隊可以挑戰對手。烏拉圭對的新老交替尚未完成 。雖然他們在世界杯預選賽南美區排名第三 ，但競爭力相對較低 ，以28分的成績落後第二名的阿根廷11分。
