《The 工发工资New York Post's Page Six》報道 ，阿布向自己在上流社會的唏嘘朋友們借錢 ，來給自己的曝阿朋友員工們開工資，數額達到每月100萬美元。借万當然，美元100萬美元的工发工资數額肯定是不夠支付切爾西球員的薪水的。阿布借來的這些錢 ，是為了維持自己的那艘豪華遊艇的開支 。
不過阿布方麵的發言人隨即對此進行了否認 。在接受《City AM》采訪時，阿布的發言人表示 ：“阿布沒有和這些人說過 ，也沒有向他們要過錢 。我們已經聯係了這則消息的發布源頭，因為他們在發布前 ，並沒有和我們取得過聯係 。”
