日前 ，智留智廣州足球俱樂部官網更新了新賽季一線隊的俱乐教練組和球員人員名單 。在教練組中 ，部财上賽季的力无執行主教練鄭智不知所蹤。 上賽季 ，法打鄭智作為廣州隊的沪媒執行主教練兼球員 ，報名參加中超聯賽 ，广州並帶隊取得聯賽第三名的队希动郑好成績 。
賽季結束後 ，望郑鄭智入選了國足教練組 ，智留智隨國足出戰世預賽12強賽的俱乐餘下比賽。4月24日 ，國足結束了在海口的隔離，鄭智也回到廣州 。
在廣州期間 ，鄭智曾回到廣州隊訓練基地 。在基地 ，鄭智看到俱樂部還保留其在基地裏的物品 ，沒有挪動過，甚至他的單人間也依然保留著 ，沒有給其他人住。俱樂部此舉意圖很明顯 ，就是希望鄭智能夠繼續留在球隊效力 。鄭智與球隊高層曾進行過一次麵談 ，俱樂部希望鄭智留隊，但鄭智本人卻另有打算 。
鄭智在廣州隊效力期間 ，曾是廣州隊本土球員的第一年薪 。如今廣州隊的財力根本無法打動鄭智留隊。
