索斯蓋特表示 ，美国美國隊是对手一個有趣的對手，和他們的小组比賽將極具吸引力。
“我們已經很久沒有和美國 、迎英伊朗踢過比賽了，索斯赛或小組賽的盖特个有国德最後一個對手未知 ，當然也有可能是美国英國德比，我們對蘇格蘭很了解 。”
索斯蓋特直言 ，要想出線就要打好小組賽，不管對手是誰 ，都要確保晉級。另外，由於本屆世界杯在冬天比賽 ，那時候並非俱樂部的休賽期 ，因此索斯蓋特表示 ，團隊私底下有和英超溝通 ，希望在世界杯開始前的最後一個英超比賽日不要安排強強對話 ，因為球隊幾乎沒有準備時間 ，可能會導致小組賽第一場比賽很多球員都無法上場 。
“我們在世界杯開幕日當天就有比賽 ，因此 ，當英超結束後我們的安排已經非常清楚了 ，我們需要盡快來到卡塔爾 。”
