北京時間11月15日 ，世界杯預選賽歐洲區的牙附已定比賽出現小小“意外” ，葡萄牙遭塞爾維亞逆轉絕殺，加赛拱手送對手直接晉級之餘 ，对手C羅和他的罗伊球隊將以小組第二的身份征戰附加賽。
目前 ，布莱世預賽歐洲區已出線球隊有 ：比利時 、葡萄克羅地亞、牙附已定丹麥 、加赛法國和德國；仍有機會直接晉級的对手球隊包括 ：英格蘭 、意大利、罗伊荷蘭 、布莱挪威 、葡萄波蘭 、牙附已定瑞士和土耳其；而已經取得了附加賽資格的加赛球隊則是 ：北馬其頓、葡萄牙 、俄羅斯 、蘇格蘭和瑞典 。
懸念在於英格蘭與波蘭那一組 ，如無意外的話 ，領先3分的英格蘭將獲得小組第一出線 ，波蘭則順利成為小組第二晉級附加賽 。這樣附加賽中就會雲集C羅 、伊布與萊萬這三位世界足壇大神級人物了 。
世預賽歐洲區的附加賽共計有12支球隊參加，賽製為分成3組 ，每組4隊，進行小組單循環 ，小組第一獲得世界杯決賽圈參賽名額 。這12支球隊包括10個預選賽小組第二以及2個由歐國聯決定出的隊伍 。
北京時間11月27日 ，世預賽歐洲區附加賽的抽簽儀式將在瑞士蘇黎世舉行 。
